TIME OF THE FALLING FEATHERS Bird exodus from heaven L.A. Maihi 2010 |
the rise of dawn opened the night/to glow the darkness to the light/the birds flew frantic from the cage/into a frenzy attack of rage/their eyes were lit and sharply saw/under the cloud of thunder roar/their pace was manic as they did stray/they dived with talons locked to prey/their beaks they tore upon the bolt/of lightning strike and thunder jolt/they looked for more with hunger eyes/they needed flesh the carnal prize.....
the animals looked into the sky/and opened wide their innocent eyes/to see a war of birds alive/of talons on wings of cutting ties/their bodies trembled as they did see/bird attack bird all enemy/they scrambled to hide from furious blood/while drip upon drip fell from above/feathers were slashed from wing to wing/as beaks tore open but not to sing/the song was lost upon the earth/where once was joy now just mirth/a host of feathers came down to rest/as birds were slain no more to nest....
